1/24 Scale'Paleo-Bison' from the pleistocene of N. America

The American Bison (Buffalo) is the dwarf relative of its extinct cousin whose technical name escapes me, but to which we can refer to as the 'paleo bison'.

Well, besides being twice the size, this Bison had 6-foot wide horns - some were curved, other jutted out from the skull straight as a spear.

I adopted an in-between posture.

I took a Schleich Bison figure, cut off the head and attached it to a better Procon Collecta Bison body.

Then I puttied the fur beneath the neck, drilled holes in the skull (after removing the horns), inserted & glued wires, bent them, and covered them with a combo of Quickplastic & Quickwood putty (I found that a combo is actually STRONGER than either putty alone), sanded and painted it.

The horns are 3.5" wide, the Bison is 5" long and 2 3.4" tall.
